Woo! Moving forward and making progress! For this second day of the the waxing moon, my intention is to start an art journal. This will hopefully satisfy my creative side while also giving me a beautiful landscape in which to record my feelings, hopes, fears, dreams, and goals. You can get as fancy as you wish by adding papers, fabrics, paints, inks, and an infinite assortment of embellishments. This is something I really look forward to, and I’ll probably share it down the road when completed. I’m on the road in my van, so I’ll just have to use what I have. I just found this website for making mixed media handmade journals https://www.clothpaperscissors.com/making-handmade-books/. You can also go the easier route and use old books laying around your house or inexpensive ones from second hand stores or Goodwill.
I’m still working on my life plan that I began thinking about on the new moon. Formulating a solid plan can take some time, depending on how clear we are on what we want our lives to look like. Sometimes, we have to dig deep and unfold layers and layers of unnecessary clutter and confusion caused by trauma, stress, faded hopes & dreams, and what others have pushed on us. It can be hard to decipher what is ours and what is not. If having a problem with this, adopting a regular routine of meditation, exercise, drinking more water, journaling, energy clearing & shielding, and shadow work will help with this.
What about our life purpose? Do you know what yours is? Most people think this has to do with a living, but it’s not always. If we’re fortunate or creative enough to fit our life purpose into a career, that’s a definite bonus. For instance, your purpose could be making people laugh. If you were able to make money doing that, all the better. To know our purpose, we don’t need to look very far. It’s usually what we’re innately gifted at, what we’re naturally drawn to, or what we find ourselves doing for enjoyment. However, sometimes it’s the opposite. It could be something we’ve struggled with all our life, and we finally found a way to overcome it. Teaching, helping, or healing others through that could be our higher purpose. It can get confusing, as often we have many talents and many hobbies. What I’m learning is that it is generally what will do the most good in the world. What would bring the most light to both ourselves and others that we enjoy and are good at it? That’s our highest calling. One good website addressing this is https://www.jackcanfield.com/blog/finding-life-purpose/.
Life gets busy, and we can easily become distracted, and it’s hard if not impossible to complete every intention we have for our moon days. I at least begin what I’m saying I want to commit to that day, and I just continue working on it when and where possible. The most important thing is to start it, but it’s also important to complete it when the time allows. Hope you’re having fun with this, and happy waxing everybody!
